JENNY

I have been a stylist since 1994, with a specialty in color.

After working in the film industry in Los Angeles, I realized my true passion was beauty. I trained with the renowned Vidal Sassoon Academy in LA and went on to work with Sassoon in LA and Washington, DC. During that time, I was a platform artist, demonstrating Sassoon’s latest collections at major trade shows; taught workshops at salons across the country; and trained the next generation of Sassoon’s Color Specialists.

I loved my time at Sassoon, but was offered an opportunity to grow my career. I joined Klinger Advanced Aesthetics as National Color Director. I was extremely excited to join hair and aesthetics, and to work hand-in-hand with Johns Hopkins Cosmedical Professionals. I truly believe that beauty is all encompassing—hair combined with skin, nails, style, and overall health and well -being. Our personal image is an entire picture.

When KAA was afloat, I was offered the General Manager position at The Salon and Spa at Saks Fifth Avenue. I furthered the goal of providing my clients with 360 degrees of beauty potential, now to include make-up and wardrobe, by working closely with Saks’ Make-Up Artists and Personal Shoppers. I was fortunate to market the Salon alongside Saks’ luxury brands at social local events.

I moved to Roanoke in 2009. After many years of working in large metropolitan areas, I was eager to move to an area where I could get out of the rat race and have more time to enjoy my life and my career.

I was honored to be named as one of DC’s top color specialists in Washingtonian’s “Great Hair” issues. I have been interviewed by The Washington Post, New York Times, and various beauty blogs.  Most importantly, I am very lucky to have retained a VIP clientele in DC who are wonderful enough to work around my schedule.

I am an avid traveler and music lover. I am inspired and influenced by the street looks I discover in other countries, as well as the music industry. I believe hair plays a huge part in fashion, and fashion is created not only by designers but also by everyday people expressing themselves.

WENDY

I have been in the beauty industry since 1995 and took a break to apply my skills in the insurance business. After working in insurance for a decade, I realized how much I missed being able to be creative and work with other like minds. I have managed several salons and have been in customer service for many years. I love doing natural nails and doing abstract art. I also love doing creative hairstyles and updos. I’ve never met a stranger and I absolutely love to laugh and put a smile on your face! I look forward to welcoming you in my chair—whether it be for hair or nails. Here’s to living your best life…I can’t wait to meet you on Higher Ground.

Hair has been my passion since 1995. Innovation in color and style is my constant motivation as I pursue sharpening my craft.

While Roanoke is my home base, I have had multiple years of training at Vidal Sassoon in Northern Virginia.

I work closely with every client that sits with me to achieve their best look. When not doing the job that I love, you can find me spending time with my family, globe-trotting, or checking out a live band.

Style is about panache, and about embracing individuality…That’s what beauty is about for me—celebrating uniqueness, not conformity-–Isabella Rossellini
